I woke up at the crack of dawn (again) to the loud, but very entertaining calls of my parrot. Rufus likes to play "Marco Polo". He will keep yelling "Marco" until we wake up and say "Polo" back to him.
Birds like to keep track of where the rest of the flock is. Rufus loves these interactive games since we are his part of his flock.
My hubby and I will say "Marco" when we are looking for each other in the house. Rufus picked up on this all by himself. I did not try to teach it to him, he just thought it was a good idea.
I say "Marco" to him periodically, from another room hoping for a "Polo" from him. But, Rufus thinks he is in charge, so he refuses to say "Polo". Rufus answers to no one!
