Today is Father’s Day. Jesus called God our “Father in Heaven” when he taught us how to pray:
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one
for yours is the kingdom
and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.
(Matthew 6:9-13)
On this Father’s Day, and every other day for the rest of my life, I would like to thank my Father in Heaven for giving me everything that I have and for making me everything that I am.
