Hi there! My screen name is “X-Evolutionist”, but please call me “X” for short. I’m a Christian married lady in my fifties. I’ve only believed in God for a very short time considering my age. This site is about the things I learned that got me to believe.
I Was Raised Without a Belief in God
I was taught that life on earth came about by a process of time and chance from as far back as I can remember. It was all I had ever known. There was no need for God in my philosophy as the world made sense this way. Even though my world made sense without God, I was still curious if he existed. I know now that we were designed by God to have a desire to know him.
Over the years, I would often come across Christians and I would ask them why they believed in God. I always got the same two answers: either “I’ve always believed in God” or “The Bible tells me so”. Neither of these explanations were compelling arguments for the existence of God as far as I was concerned.
However, my world was about to turn upside down…
I Met Some Friends Who Were Creationists
When I was over forty, I met some people who were Christians, and like always, I asked them why they believed that God existed. Surprisingly, they had something totally different to say. They said that they knew God existed because, according to them, the scientific evidence points to creation, and not evolution, and thus to a creator. Of course, I knew that they were ignorant, and I told them so.
But, they were very confident in what they believed. They basically dared me to read a book to see if they were right. I fought it for months, but, I ended up deciding that it wouldn’t hurt to read a book.
They Dared Me to Read A Book about Fossils
They loaned me a book about fossils. The book didn’t really have anything different than I had always been taught over the years in science classes, natural history museums and television nature shows, but it used some logical arguments that I had never heard before.
Fossils: Key to the Present
Duane Gish and Richard B. Bliss
It showed that the fossil record consists of separate and distinct types of animals with no blending in between as we are led to expect from the theory of evolution. The conclusion was that the basic types of animals were created by God and then genetic variation took off from there and developed the different types of animals within each group. For example, Collies, German Shepherds and St. Bernards are just different types of dogs, as are wolves and coyotes. Please see my page: Using the Dog-Kind of Animal to Disprove Evolution
I Read a Book about the Origin of Life – Life Required a Creator
They loaned me another book about the origin of life, how complicated life is, and how difficult it would be for life to be a product of time and chance. The book concludes that life had to be created by God.
Origin of Life
Richard B. Bliss
We in the United States are taught in public school that life was formed over time by chance. But, I have learned that this is not supported by scientific evidence.
I Read a Book about How the Scientific Evidence Matches What Is In the Bible
I read yet another book. This book, like the others, concentrated on the scientific evidence against evolution and for creation. By the time I started reading this book I had an insatiable curiosity to read more and more books.
Many Infallible Proofs
Henry M. Morris
This book explained that events in the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis in the Bible fit in with the scientific evidence of the world. For instance, this book shows that the fossil record was actually caused by a world-wide flood.
I Was Surprised To Find That So Many Scientists Did Not Believe In Evolution
Most of the books I read were by scientists. This really surprised me because all my life I’d been told that evolution was “scientific” and creation was “religious”. Now, I was reading books by scientists who believed that “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” as it says in the first verse of the Bible.
I was particularly interested in the scientific information because I had always been interested in science. But, as the authors were Christians, they always wove the reasons they believed the Bible through the books.
As I was learning about the fossil evidence and geology, etc, I was also learning how these things fit with what the Bible said about creation, the flood and the Tower of Babel, among other things. I learned that the Old Testament was compatible with physical and biological evidence.
Meanwhile, I Started Going to Church – And Still Read More Books by Scientists
My insatiable reading continued and I read many books. During this time, I also began dating and then fell in love with one of my friends who initially told me why he believed in God. I started going to church with him. Before church he would rehearse with the other musicians that did the music for church and I would read my books.
At Some Point, I No Longer Believed In Evolution, but I Did Not Believe In God, Either
At some point into my reading I stopped believing that evolution was supported by the scientific evidence. But, on the other hand, I still did not believe in God or creation, either. This was a very confusing period of time for me. I also was reading the Bible by this time even though I did not believe in God. During church I would listen to the music and the sermon politely, I but never believed any of it – until one morning about nine months after I started reading that first book about fossils.
Suddenly, I Was Filled With the Holy Spirit
One Sunday morning during rehearsal I was reading one of my books and I suddenly started to cry. I didn’t know why. But I kept reading. I started to shake and continued to cry, but I kept reading. All of a sudden, I felt something that I can only describe as being filled by God. I suddenly believed everything. I believed in God, I believed that “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” and I believed that Jesus is the name of God.
My boyfriend was still rehearsing, but he could see that something was happening to me. When rehearsal was over he came to sit by me and we both cried during church. After church, the pastor’s wife came running over to me. It was obvious what was happening to me.
I Accepted Jesus as My Lord and Savior
At this point I couldn’t talk because I was crying and shaking so much, but she led me through a prayer and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and became born again as a Christian.
This all happened during nine months during the year 1996. Since then, I have kept reading more books. Each book gives me more and more confirmation of what I now know to be true.
Now I Want To Tell You Why I Believe In God
Now, I want to share the things I’ve learned with others. I want others to know that there is scientific proof that God exists.
I feel that God has a plan for me. I believe that He had me wait until now to believe in God so I would be passionate about telling others why I believe.
By the way, a short time after I became a Christian my boyfriend proposed marriage and we are now very happily married.
More About Me
I live with my wonderful hubby, 2 great mutts, 1 African grey parrot, 2 cockatiels, 6 parakeets, two bunnies and a backyard pond full of goldfish. I am from California, but I live in Oklahoma City.
I don’t smoke, don’t drink, and do not eat animals. Oddly, my religious beliefs, came much later in my life and have nothing to do with these choices. I have worked in the field of civil engineering for many years.
I spend my time with my hubby and my pets, watching old movies, reading, crocheting, listening to music and telling people why I believe in God.
Here are some pictures of my pets:

God Bless for your testimony, how you found God.
I know the day, when I found God, I was attending church regularly arguing to myself, what was doing here. I found something missing from church, my commitment seem to be suffering, practiced what was expected but felt nothing. But one day attended a friends church in London, and had bible time and read from the bible, that had a experience that became over come, can only describe as a great power. I received a blessing, more did I believe in Jesus and would I follow him, Answer was Yes.
I thought to myself to live in Christ to follow the bible and not the external practices I have been following, so I am converting as found thechruch involved with the bible was missing. But wanting to following Jesus made less bothered about man made ideals. atb
Thank you for sharing your testimony. X
Looking forward to explore this blog. =)
I just happened upon your website when someone on facebook mentioned it. Your story is very encouraging! I looked at all of your pictures of pets and your yard – beautiful! I can tell you are a nature lover! The pond is beautiful, I may just show the picture to my husband and copy your idea for my yard! Thank you, I have enjoyed your website and will be back!
Beautiful testimony! Thank you for sharing your story with me, I enjoyed it very much, as well as this website of yours.
Thank God for your testimony and how similar I too came to the Lord thru the evidences of both creation and the authenticity of scripture.
One question I do have for you is; Where in the bible does it say to “accept Jesus” thru a prayer? You said that you were, “… led me through a prayer and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and became born again as a Christian.” I don’t doubt your sincerety about believing in Christ, but did you submit yourself to Christ by admitting that you’re a sinner without hope of salvation except thru repentance and faith just as it is taught in Luke 5 and Acts 3. For without repentance, there is no forgiveness of sins (Luke 13:3 and Hebrew 9:22)
The Scriptures speak of “repentance unto life” (Acts 11:18). We turn from sin to the Savior. This is why Paul preached “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21). The first public word Jesus preached was “repent” (Matthew 4:17). John the Baptist began his ministry the same way (Matthew 3:2). Jesus told His hearers that without repentance, they would perish (Luke 13:3).
If belief is all that is necessary for salvation, then the logical conclusion is that one need never repent. However, the Bible tells us that a false convert “believes” and yet is not saved (Luke 8:13); he remains a “worker of iniquity.” Look at the warning of Scripture: “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth” (1 John 1:6). The Scriptures also say, “He that covers his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesses and forsakes them [repentance] shall have mercy” (Proverbs 28:13). Jesus said that there was joy in heaven over one sinner who “repents” (Luke 15:10). If there is no repentance, there is no joy because there is no salvation.

I hope and trust that you HAVE actually repented of your sins as this testimony would be greatly enhanced if so because simple belief (as the demons do) is not enough becuase they believe and they shudder. (James 2:19).
In Christ’s love and for His glory alone.
Amen
6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Before repentance, one must first believe in a Lord and Savior who loved us enough to die for us…
Hi X,
Thank you for your testimony.
And thank you for referencing the books you used. I will be using your testimony, if that is alright with you. So many people are being misled. Satan is the father of lies and many fall for it.
May the Lord our God be with you and your loved ones. May Jesus guide your every step and may the seeds YOU plant with this testimony, bear the fruits of holiness! Deo Valente!
Keep well and shalom!
Thank you for your comments. You may give links to my pages to use my testimony for others. X
I’m happy for u X!! Praise God Almighty!! and our Lord Jesus Christ!! and the wonderful Holy Spirit who guides us to the Truth… I started to go to a Christian Church on October 10, 2010 and though Id just started to read the Holy Bible ( and prayed to God to give me wisdom and knowledge to understand what I read) and watched TBN not that long before attending a Church. I guess I wanted to substitute Church with the programs somehow but I felt in me that I was led to join a Church so I started trying a few different Churches but I felt that something was missing in them though I didnt know what, then I prayed to God for Him to lead me to one turns out a couple of days id forgotten bout what id asked Him, took a wrong (or should I say right) turn to my destination and I saw this church that I had completely forgotten about. I was invited there once or twice when I was 15 yrs (im 33) then I got this feeling that this was the Church that God had led me to… I joined and life would be meaningless without going to Church to continue to feed my spirit with the word of God and grow spiritually in Christ… I have so much to testify on including with how I felt when I was filled with the Holy Spirit and what I did after I was filled etc. but i will leave that for another time im running late for the leadership study we have today but until then may God bless you prosper you and keep you in Jesus Mighty Name..Amen and Amen
Thank you very much for your comments about my site and for your testimony!X
Hello. I’m very happy for you, and God bless. There are many books I could recommend, but to really ramp it up, with an extremely interesting book, and another ‘case study’ in the history of the ‘metaphysical research programme’ of evolution, I would highly recommend looking at a book which contains evidences either unknown or ignored. Cremo and Thompson, Forbidden Archaeology. Authors have written other books but this is the seminal work. Interestingly the work is crammed with undeniable ‘evidence’. Evidence is not a world that evolutionary theory inhabits; heavy on the theory and just-so stories with robust ad hoc explanations rather. I first read this book in the 90s I think, and really there is hardly anything public about it. Curious, indeed underground perhaps. Now, the author (Michael Cremo) is not a young earth bible believer, he is a vedic researcher; however he is respectful of Bible believers, and everything he presents is extremely strong evidence for ‘young earth creation’ views, and also unfortunately, strong evidence for intellectual extortion and ‘suppressing the truth in unrighteousness’ that, apparently, goes on in academia. God bless.

I first came to Prayer Force Church when I was in fourth grade and instantly welcomed. The people of Prayer Force Church are so loving and caring and are seriously like family to me. Some of the people I met when I first came are now my closest friends. The messages taught at Prayer Force Church are so relevant and they help me out so much! I am so blessed to attend Prayer Force Church!!! You can email if you need prayers via: Revanthony42@gmail.com
Hi! This isn’t an attack on your faith at all, I just want to address evolution and your story here. I was excited when i stumbled on this page – science convinced you of god! it said. Yet nothing you present here is serious science – I don’t mean that in a belittling way, i mean that in a practical and academic one. Most of these books obsess over one or two details in order to advance an a priori assumption (god). Fitting data into a theory is always bad science, which is in turn what these books suggest about “evolutionists” (a silly term) in vaguely paranoid tones. The beauty of modern science is that it’s built in trial and error (like evolution) and a humility that accepts that no theory is absolute. Scientists would be the first to embrace a new theory if it could better explain the evidence than the old one, but until then, as always, scientists continue in the direction that appears correct until something new comes to light and shakes things up. Nearly all the modern sciences are entwined in evolution and a universe that is billions of years old, this is because all the evidence (so far) has shaped these theories, and evolution has had a good century or so to stand up to real scrutiny and it continues only to enlighten rather than confuse. Fringe scientists and rebels can try to be the prophets of their time, but right now we live in a world saturated with evidence of millions of years of life and growth and development. Our very ancestors and pressed into the rocks under our feet. Mapping the human genome has only solidified what Darwin posited through logic: now we see our ancestors’ footprints are in our DNA.
The story of your conversion just sounded like someone who was relatively unexposed to Christian apologetics and then found a real liking for their logic and intent – you wanted to approach God logically and rationally. I do too, which is why i found this a but strange. There are other ways to find God logically, and evolution isn’t going away any time soon. If you’re uncomfortable with what it would mean to your faith if evolution was true, then I would humbly suggest that you need to ask why that is.
